Three days of training sessions have been organized by the Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia
Three days of training sessions have been organized by the Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia - Tajikistan for civil society organizations which have received small grants within the program "Good Governance Initiative Fund ", funded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID).The event was held in "Sarob" recreation center (Khoja Obi Garm), and was attended by representatives of the 22 organizations that received grants within the program.
The first part of the training was devoted to a presentation and a Q&A session about the law "On public associations" of the Republic of Tajikistan. The session was led by senior specialists from the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Tajikistan, Asoev Rasul and Bobozoda Kurbonali.
The main purpose of the training was to increase the capacity of civil society organizations in the field of legal awareness.
This session lasted half of the day, after which representatives of each project which has received small grants in the framework of the second cycle of the program "Good Governance Initiative Fund" (GGIF) gave a presentation. Participants then had the opportunity to ask questions and share their opinions and recommendations for future.
One of the main purposes of this meeting was to create a web page for each GGIF project. Each participant was given forms to fill out. Using the information from these forms, the Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia -– Tajikistan will post information on all the projects on the web site ( www.ef-ca.tj ).
The "Good Governance Initiative Fund” aims to promote good governance through the strengthening of cooperation between civil society organizations and government agencies.
Thus the event took place with the active participation of several representatives of state bodies of the Republic of Tajikistan. In addition to representatives of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Tajikistan, who conducted a session for non-governmental organizations, the head of the Department of Health Services for Children and Adolescents of the Ministry of Health, Aziza Khojaeva, organized a session on improving parenting skills, management of medical services for mothers and children, and family planning.
During the training, information concerning the current situation of children with disabilities in Tajikistan was provided, and representatives of the Ministry of Health spoke about the projects which the ministry is currently implementing throughout the country.The second half of the day was dedicated to the topic of health. Invited experts, Marina Slepian and Lyubov Rubin- Niyazova, representing the Israeli "Sulamot" center made a presentation on the activities of their organization and non-governmental organizations in Israel.
The “Good Governance Initiative Fund’ project director Ilkhom Mahkambaeva began the third (and final) day with a presentation, teaching civil society organizations how to write project applications for large grants.
Following the presentation of the director of the project, representatives of "Marifati Shahrvand", "Peshsaf" and "Union of Consumers of Tajikistan", gave presentations about their projects which have been given the green light to continue.
The three-day training ended with the presentation of the preliminary designs of web pages of public organizations, based on the forms which had been completed earlier in the conference. After the presentation, participants were invited to share their opinions about the training.
