Roundtable held to mark the end of a project in Baljuvon
In Qurghonteppa, the administrative center of Khatlon, a study tour has been organized around the offices of the local government, as well as a roundtable to mark the end of the project, ‘Training for Young Women in the Baljuvon District for Public Administration’, implemented by civil society organization Marifati Shahrvandi. The project is part of the ‘Good Governance Initiative Fund’, implemented by EFCA-Tajikistan and funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
Makhfirat Khidirzoda, Deputy Chairman of the Khatlon region; Dilafruz Zoirova, Program Manager for Democracy Programs for USAID in Tajikistan; as well as representatives of EFCA-Tajikistan and the civil society organization "Marifati Shahrvandi" took part in the event.
During the tour, the participants of the project had an opportunity to learn about the activities of the local government in Khatlon, and met Ms. Khidirzoda, the Deputy Chairman of the region and the Department for Statistics, the Department for Youth Affairs and the Employment Agency of Khatlon.
The round table summarized the results of the project, which organized courses for 20 young women on public administration and management.
After completing the courses, all the participants presented a project idea, ten of which received funding. During the recent event, the young women whose projects received the grants gave a presentation on their results.
Marjona Murodova, one of the young women who passed the courses and received funding, noted that the courses had helped her to grow professionally. She is currently working as the head of the department for women in Baljuvan and says she has learnt how to better communicate with and manage the female population of the district.
At the end of the event, all the young women who had completed the public administration courses received certificates.
