SUMMARY
Eurasia Foundation (EF), a US non-profit organization promoting civil society development and good governance, is accepting applications for a Civil Society Capacity Building Specialist for the Civil Society Support Program in Central Asia (CSSP). The purpose of CSSP is to cultivate a vibrant and responsive citizen-oriented civil society in Central Asia.
The CSCBS will be based full-time in the regional office in Tajikistan and serve as a technical specialist for CSSP activities aimed at building the capacity of civil society organizations (CSOs) to be financially viable and constituent-based.
DUTIES
Oversee CSO capacity assessments using the institutional assessment toolkit
Serve as an expert on the selection committee for institutional development (ID) grants
Serve as a capacity building advisor for CSOs in Tajikistan
Organize training events and oversee ID grant implementation by CSOs in Tajikistan
Collaborate with Civil Society Capacity Building Specialists in CSSP Country Offices
QUALIFICATIONS
At least 3 years of experience supporting the development of civil society organizations (CSOs)
preferably for USG-funded international development projects
Familiarity and previous experience working in Central Asia
Demonstrated technical expertise in civil society capacity building, CSO networking and advocacy required; experience using organizational capacity assessment and growth models strongly preferred
Bachelor’s degree in organizational development, public administration, international relations or other relevant areas of study
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Russian required
Knowledge of Kazakh, Tajik, Turkmen or Uzbek a plus
