The activities of the Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia - Tajikistan in the direction of educating the anti-corruption policy of the state and increasing the legal literacy of the population.

   The Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia - Tajikistan (EFCA-Tajikistan) continues its activities in the field of education of the anti-corruption policy of the state and improving the legal literacy of the population. From EFCA-Tajikistan, in 2015, a memorandum of cooperation was signed with the Agency for State Financial Control and the Fight against Corruption of the Republic of Tajikistan. Since January of this year, EFCA-Tajikistan began its activities to improve the legal literacy of the population in the direction of education of the anti-corruption policy of the state and the implementation of the Strategy for countering corruption in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2013-2020.

   January 26, 2019, a meeting for representatives of civil society was held in the assembly hall of the local government part of the Rudaki district. The event was attended by over 300 participants, including representatives of government agencies and the public.

   The meeting was attended by the chairman of the Rudaki district, Akramzoda Rustam, Nigora Mukimi, a representative of the Anti-Corruption Agency, the director of EFCA-Tajikistan Saifiddinov Azimzhon, as well as the Deputy Chairman of the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption of the Republic of Tajikistan Khomidov Nurali.

The message of the Founder of Peace and National Unity, the Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon Majlisi Oli, discussed about the main directions of domestic and foreign policy for the coming year.

   A representative of the Anti-Corruption Agency, Nigora Mukimi, informed those present about the current position of the agency regarding corrupt practices, public awareness about preventing corruption cases, and about the readiness to provide assistance and support to initiatives from civil society. EFCA-Tajikistan Director Sayfiddinov Azimzhon, in his speech noted the importance of working to prevent corruption cases, the interaction of the public sector with representatives of civil society and the public in the implementation of the Strategy for countering corruption in Tajikistan for 2013-2020.

   The issues of enhancing the role of civil society, and the revitalization of public commissions to combat corruption under the local executive body of the Rudaki district were also discussed.

Participants could freely ask questions of interest to them, and receive answers from responsible persons.
